The Health Battle Starts at Home
For many people weight is a long life battle that starts from a very young age. More women struggle with the bulge than men and the problem is more common in women of color. As a parent, what can you do to ensure that you children do not grow up with this problem?
Numerous medical conditions can result from unhealthy eating habits down the road not to mention what this can do for to the view one has of themselves. This is one problem that must be addressed from an early age and parents must be careful not to make it worse by exposing their children to the wrong things.
How come the first that doctors announce after the birth of the baby is the weight? During that crucial first year, the health of the baby is based on its weight and society has a way of rubbing this in, especially when your child is the slimmer type. Your success as a parent is gauged by how heavy your child is and when the weight is not up there, a mother faces a lot of criticism.
Due to this pressure, parents over feed their children and from that early age, they children start struggling with their weight. If this problem is not addressed in good time, a child can struggle for the rest of his life. As long as your child is healthy, do not let the pressure get to you. There are no medals for overweight babies, just problems later in life.
In other homes, junk food rules. Children are brought up in an environment where everything they it is processed, deep fried and full of sugar. Children learnt poor eating habits like eating and snacking as the watch TV all day. Physical activity is not a part of their lives and they get candy every time the do something nice or throw a tantrum.
If these scenarios in any way describe your own personal experience, do not wait for things to get worse. You need to take decisive action to save your children for obesity, heart disease, diabetes and many other conditions. Diabetes can be controlled with diet and drugs such that help to suppress the appetite and in this way, help in weight loss. There are also many other drugs that can help manage such diseases.
If the TV is the biggest problem in your home, making your children inactive and uninterested in other activities, do not hesitate to get rid of it. Begin to introduce other more exciting activities that you can take part in as a family. The time spend together will do you a lot of good and you children will come around and drop the bad TV habit.
Analyze your kitchen and begin to slowly alter the foods that you make. As much as you can, stop eating out and enjoy healthy family meals. This is the only way for you to ensure your family is eating healthy. You will be pleasantly surprised and how much money you will save. Save your children from disease and poor health by acting now. Do not wait until it is too late
